Privacy Policy
Effective July 10, 2026 · last revised September 9, 2026
Lyran Defense does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal information or usage data. Nothing. From anyone.
What we collect
Nothing. The game has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. The game talks to no server of ours — see Network access for the one Tatzel Labs address it can hand to your browser, at your request and carrying no identifier.
What stays on your device
Your game progress — levels completed, stars, endless-mode records, journal discoveries, personal records and audio settings — is stored on your device. On Apple devices, if you are signed in to iCloud, the game also keeps a copy in your own iCloud account so that your iPhone, Mac and Apple TV see one save; that copy lives in Apple’s storage under your account and never reaches us. It may likewise be included in your standard device backups. Deleting the app deletes the copy on that device, and the in-game reset in Settings clears both the device and the iCloud copy.
Network access
The game is single-player and there is no Tatzel Labs server for it to reach. It has no account with us, sends us nothing, and works with the network turned off. The only network access it has at all belongs to the platform’s own game service, described next.
On Apple devices it can use three of Apple’s own services. All three are optional, the whole game plays without any of them, and every one is governed by Apple’s privacy policy rather than ours: the App Store, for the optional purchase below; iCloud key-value storage, for the progress backup described above; and Game Center, which the game asks to sign you in at launch so that achievements can be recorded if you have an account. We never see any of it.
On Android the game uses one of Google’s services the same way: Google Play Games Services, which signs you in if you have a Play Games account so that achievements can be recorded. It is optional, the whole game plays without it, and it is governed by Google’s privacy policy rather than ours. It is the only reason the Android build asks for the internet permission and the only thing that permission is used for, and we never see any of it. Before September 2026 the Android build did not ask for that permission at all, and this policy said so; achievements were counted on the device and banked nowhere.
One thing leaves the game, and only when you ask for it. “Send feedback” in Settings opens tatzel-labs.com/feedback in your own browser (on Apple TV, which has none, it shows the address and a QR code for your phone). The game hands your browser a link and does nothing else — it never posts to that form itself. The link carries the app name, the platform, the app version and build, the OS version and your locale, so a bug report arrives with the details that make it fixable; the page shows you those before you send anything, and no identifier of any kind rides along. Close the browser and nothing has been sent.
Your data, your rights
Because we hold nothing about you, there is nothing of yours to request, export, correct or delete — no privacy request you could send us would have anything to act on. To erase everything, delete the app; the in-game Settings screen also offers a full progress reset.
Purchases
On Apple devices the game offers one optional supporter purchase, “Light the Beacon”. It is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, your payment details or any other information about you; the app only ever learns whether the purchase is active on the device. The Android build has no purchases at all.
Children
The game collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future update ever changes any of the above — for example, optional online multiplayer — this policy will be updated first, and the change will be called out in the release notes.
